Dhawale Ghat is an ancient trade route connecting Wai – Satara region of western MH with Mahad – Poladpur region in Kokan. In its prime, it used to be full of imports worth thousands of rupees being transported to areas atop ghat like Wai, Satara etc.
Dhawale ghat, thus has been of historic & political importance for a long time. There two water cistern to quench thirst of travelers, traders & labors all alike. Over the period of time, due to obvious lack of maintenance, Water in one of the cistern had turn stale. In fact, It had almost began stinking. Every monsoon, freshwater would be temporarily flush out the stale stock & replenish with fresher one. However, due to tons of mud, slush & soil having filled in over a period of time, It would be futile of monsoon to clean & fill it with freshwater.
The SAHYADRI Mountain ranges of India, forms the backbone of the rich cultural and natural heritage of Maharashtra.
